You can make LINE stickers by preparing images, entering the required details, submitting the set for review and releasing it after approval. LINE Sticker Maker offers a smartphone workflow; image-editing software and LINE Creators Market give you more control over your artwork.
Decide first whether you want stickers for yourself, for family and friends, or for sale. That choice affects the settings you need to check. This guide covers standard static stickers and is based on LINE's official guidance checked on September 20, 2026. Animated, BIG and other sticker formats have different specifications.

Can you use your own LINE stickers for free?
LINE's help explains that eligible creators can download stickers submitted through LINE Sticker Maker on or after June 26, 2019, for free. However, sets submitted with the paid-download/revenue-sharing option introduced in version 4.0 are excluded. Check the selected option before submitting. See LINE's official creator help.
Does a private sticker set stay completely private?
No. Hiding a set from LINE STORE and the sticker shop keeps it out of places such as search results and rankings. People who reach its purchase page directly may still view and buy it, and a sticker sent in a chat can lead to that page. It is not an access-controlled family album. Use PNG files in RGB color mode at 72 dpi or above. Width and height must be even numbers. Use transparent backgrounds and leave approximately 10 px of space around the artwork. A ZIP upload must be no larger than 60 MB. These are the requirements for standard static stickers; check the separate rules for other formats in the official creation guidelines.
Method 1: Make stickers on your phone
Plan a small, useful set
List situations in which someone would send each sticker: thanking a friend, acknowledging a message or saying good night. Keep the character, lettering and visual style consistent. Start with expressions people can understand quickly rather than filling a set with similar poses.
Prepare and edit your images
Use photographs or illustrations you own or are licensed to use for this purpose. Remove unwanted backgrounds, add short text and check the edges of cutouts. For photographs of other people, obtain their agreement before using and selling the images.
Check readability at chat size
Artwork that looks clear when enlarged may be hard to read in a conversation. Shorten long sentences, avoid very thin lettering and check contrast on both light and dark backgrounds. Keep important details away from the edge.
Review the submission settings
In LINE Sticker Maker, check the title, description, image count, sales regions, visibility and revenue-sharing option. Screen labels can change between versions, so follow the current in-app instructions. Do not assume that a personal-use set will automatically be free or visible only to invited people.
Method 2: Turn hand-drawn illustrations into stickers
Photograph or scan your drawings, then open them in an image editor. Adjust shadows and paper color, remove the background and export compliant PNG files. Inspect the edges for white halos and check that letters have not been cropped.
Keep the original scan and editable files separately so you can make corrections later. Copying an existing character or tracing another person's illustration does not make it your original work. Check the rights attached to every image, font and other material.
Method 3: Use design software and Creators Market
Software with layers lets you adjust lettering and artwork separately. Keep line thickness, colors and character size consistent across the set. Export the required sticker, main and thumbnail images, then register the images and text through LINE Creators Market.
Before submission, check whether fonts and stock assets permit commercial sticker sales. A license that allows general design work may have additional conditions for products whose main value is the artwork.

How sticker revenue works
Check available prices in the creator interface. The retail price, LINE Coins and the amount paid to a creator are different things. Revenue can also depend on the sales channel, selected settings and payout conditions.
LINE's guide describes a case in which creators receive 50% of revenue after a 30% platform fee. That arithmetic equals 35% of the original amount under those conditions; it is not a universal payout rate for every sale or service. LINE Stickers Premium has separate distribution terms. If you are considering stickers as a side job, include drawing, revisions, software, materials and promotion in your costs. Creating and releasing a set does not guarantee income.

- Check the image type, count, dimensions and file size.
- Check transparency, margins and small-screen readability.
- Confirm rights to photographs, characters, fonts and materials.
- Remove addresses, school names and other unintended personal details.
- Confirm the creator's download and revenue-sharing settings.
- Understand that a hidden purchase page can still be accessible.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be good at drawing?
No. Original photographs, simple lettering and clear expressions can work. Focus on a useful meaning, readable design and compliance with the image and rights requirements.
Can I upload a photograph of a drawing as it is?
Only if the resulting image meets the requirements. Most drawings need background removal, cropping, resizing and export to the correct format.
Can family members download my stickers free?
The creator's eligibility for a free download does not automatically apply to family or friends. Check the purchase conditions for other users before promising free access.
Can I earn money immediately?
Submission, approval, release and sales are separate steps. Treat the first set as a small experiment and compare the time and cost with other side-job options.
