Commissioning LINE stickers involves more than illustration. Agree character development, required images, registration, review revisions and release responsibilities. Hiring a professional does not guarantee approval or sales. Choose the format and quantity before comparing like-for-like quotes.

Required images for standard static stickers

The following key requirements were checked against the official static-sticker guide on September 30, 2026. Animated and other formats have separate rules.

Size

File limit

Main

Up to 370 × 320 px

Chat tab

The format is PNG, with transparency and other production conditions. Check legibility at actual display size. Promotional concepts and logos also need review against the content rules before artwork is commissioned.

Submission assistance does not establish account ownership or who receives proceeds. Specify both. Avoid assuming that password sharing is required; the client may register delivered files themselves using written instructions.

Example

Concept and character design

¥10,000

16 sticker images

¥16,000

Main and tab

¥3,000

Registration information and instructions

¥2,000

Total

¥31,000

This is a worked example, not a market benchmark. It excludes tax, platform fees, extra revisions and submission agency work. Compare whether per-image rates include initial design. Price additional rights and source-file delivery explicitly.

Distinguish revenue allocation from cost recovery

The official proceeds explanation describes 50% after a 30% Apple, Google or similar fee. Under that assumption, 0.7 × 0.5 equals 35% of the starting amount. LINE Stickers Premium uses a different allocation, so 35% is not a universal rule for every receipt. Check the applicable method and actual statement.

Hypothetically, applying only that formula to ¥10,000 produces ¥3,500. This is neither a sales forecast nor a guaranteed final payout after all other conditions. A ¥31,000 production budget does not imply rapid recovery; model demand and additional costs separately.

A commissioning brief

Purpose, format and quantity: [ ]

Character and message list: [ ]

Image and font permissions: [ ]

Rough/final approvers and revisions: [ ]

Registration account, proceeds and submission owner: [ ]

Review corrections and extra costs: [ ]

Source files, reuse and portfolio permission: [ ]

Slightly modifying an existing character or photograph does not establish permission. Client-supplied assets also require checks. A setting that hides content from search is not automatically a confidential, restricted-recipient distribution system. Verify visibility before including personal or private information.

From concept to release

  1. Check the proposed use and finalize format, quantity and text.
  2. Approve rough artwork and small-size readability.
  3. Receive required files, descriptions and agreed permissions.
  4. Have the named operator submit and handle any review changes.
  5. Assign the release action after approval and responsibility for statements.

A supplier does not control the platform’s review outcome or exact timing. If a date matters, allow for corrections and agree what happens if approval is delayed.
